On this episode of Reel World: Rewind, Blaine is joined by Shannon Grimes to talk about Disney’s 1991 animated classic, Beauty and the Beast. They start their discussion by recounting their personal histories with this “tale as old as time,” and from there they begin explore the film’s insightful and relevant critique of a culture that is obsessed with superficial beauty. Finally, Blaine and Shannon turn their attention to Disney’s forthcoming live-action adaptation, sharing their hopes, doubts, fears, and–above all else–excitement for what’s to come.
