On this episode of the Reel World Theology Podcast:
Watch out as the Hype Train pulls into the station. Star Wars The Force Awakens has finally arrived in theaters and it has been universally embraced as another solid entry into the Star Wars Universe. While there are some detractors, the overwhelming response has been positive and we revel in that for awhile. We also take the criticisms of the film being more of a remake than a sequel seriously and address what history tells us about stories we have heard before. Also, don’t forget to check out our special EXTRA segment where we answer your Force Awakens questions along with proposing some of our own fan theories about the franchise going forward.

Loved the podcast guys! Thanks for answering my Twitter questions. I like the Rey as a Kenobi idea, but Obi Wan died over 30 years ago. My theory: Obi Wan had a daughter in the Clone Wars era. That daughter grew up and as a young teen bore a daughter by midichloriants much like Anakin giving us Rey. Not really. I appreciated your thoughts though and look forward to becoming acquainted with the More than One Lesson and Reel Thinking podcast on an upcoming road trip this weekend.
Thanks Jeremy! We had a little too much fun recording it. I’m extremely up-in-the-air on my own theory, but I honestly wouldn’t mind if she is nobody special. Thanks again for listening and contributing to the discussion.
